SEASON OUTREACH

Longhorn Racing

Feb 26, 2023    Our FTC team toured the studio/lab space of "Longhorn Racing". They are a student-founded organization that competes at the Formula SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers), representing the University of Austin Texas. Here, our team was able to get a deeper understanding of more processes implemented into robotics, such as combustion, electric, and even solar. By this, we not only learned more about the real life applications of robotics, but used it to improve aspects of our very own robot.

Eagle Boy Scouts

Jul 19, 2022     Serving to our fellow youth in the community, our team established an outreach with a local Central Texas boy scouts troop. With them, our team spread the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) program and message, further discussing the inner sub-team structure of a robotics team as well as how a typical FTC season looks like. Handing the controllers over, scouts were able to steer and control, being introduced to the mechanisms and workings of an FTC bot.

Canyon Ridge MS

Nov 16, 2022    Another outreach in which we catered to our community was through collaborating with a local middle school. Here, our team was open to answering any questions students had toward the way the robot they controlled operated as well as the devices/contraptions it used in doing so. Along with this, our team's primary goal was to introduce the FIRST program's details as well as our broader "Viperbots" organization to these future high school students.
